What Causes Discoloration On The Tip Of Uvula With History Of Adenoids Removal?

The tip of my uvula is purple. It is not swollen and there is no pain in my throat area at all. Do I need medical attention? Is this normal? I had my tonsil and adenoids removed about 10 years ago. Around this time of year I cough up Flem quit often. Could this have played a factor in the discoloration?
