Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Discomfort And Itchiness In The Right Foot After A Surgery?
My right foot has been very uncomfortable when wearing shoes. I ve had surgery on both feet. Left side my pins were removed but not my right. Top of foot also feels itchy only on one spot where the incision starts. Could it be that my pins need to be removed?
If the pins should be removed or not, it is the doctor that should decide this, depending on the healing of the bones. The skin may itch for many reasons, such as from secretions if they are present or it may be due to being dry or due to local reaction to certain chemicals.
I would advise you to use vaseline locally on the part of the skin that is itchy to keep it moisturized. Try to avoid any other chemicals there and if you are not any better ina 3-4 days with vaseline use please let your doctor know.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
