I ve been experiencing some discomfort in the back of my throat for three days, when I looked to see if I could see anything, my uvula looks bruised. It hurts more when I swallow and talk. How could I have bruised or popped blood vessels in the back of my throat? What can I d to treat it
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptom of discomfort and pain in the throat which seems to be due to upper respiratory tract infection that is usually caused by a virus. The symptoms can also occur due to condition like tonsillitis or acid reflux. Need not to worry. At home, you can take these steps to relieve sudden discomfort of throat such as
- Try using a saline nasal spray a few times a day. - Drink plenty of water and other fluids each day. - Run a humidifier in your home to keep the air moist. - Try an over-the-counter antihistamine. - Avoid hot and spicy food and take antacids.
Take proper course of antibiotics along with anti-inflammatory medications. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Doctor may also recommend tonsillectomy.
