What Causes Discomfort From Chest To Back And Unbelched Burp Feeling?

Hi, I have this strange discomfort in my chest which also goes to my back, feels like a burb is stuck in my throat. I keep burping but it doesn t go away. This has been happening often in the past few weeks. I am a female, 44 years old and I have already been diagnosed with possible gastritis and I on a medication for it, but this is something new and I am wondering if it could be GERD or what else it might be? Sorry, it happens after I eat or drink.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a gastro esophageal reflux disease. I suggest using medications to lower the acidity in the stomach such as Prilosec. I also suggest using antacids such as Maalox three times a day.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
