General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Discomfort or pain after total knee replacement is commonly due to infection, loosening of the knee implant, injury or knee cap problem (patellofemoral problem).

Alignment issues may also lead to discomfort. You are suggested to get a follow up clinical examination done by your treating surgeon.

You may have to go through a few lab tests & imaging tests. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected.

You will either be treated with medicines, physical therapy, arthrocentesis or revision knee replacement surgery(minimal invasive) as per the diagnosis made.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
