What Causes Discomfort In Lower Back And In Area Between Rectum And Testicles?
Hello, I have been having episodes of discomfort in my lower back, and also the area between my rectum and testicles. I also noticed today what feels like a lump adjacent to my rectum. I do have a history of crohns disease, as well. I had a cat scan few days ago, and there was nothing that showed up on that. White Blood cell count was elevated also. What am I possibly dealing with?
Perineum is the area between the base of the scrotum and anus. It contains skin, nerves and blood vessels. Pelvic floor muscles are there beneath perineum. It supports the urinary bladder and rectum. Prostate is the male organ found beneath the perineum in males.
Lump in the perineum may be due to thickened pelvic floor muscle, hemorrhoids, prostatitis, etc. Per rectal examination helps to identify the pathology beneath the perineum. In Crohn's disease, erythema nodosum may be seen along the walls of the rectum. But it is tender to touch. X- Rays or Magnetic Resonance Imaging will helps tom identify the etiology of the lump. Physical examination also provides better clue to narrow down the pathology. Visit the surgeon for detailed evaluation.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
