What Causes Discomfort In The Back And Shortness Of Breath?

I have discomfort in my back (right side) and mid section. If I turn or stretch it gets out of whack and I have to sit down as if it needs to re-align. Sometimes if I lay on my side I feel discomfort. I cannot stand for very long. I cannot bend over without feeing some discomfort. I can function at a normal level ( climb stairs) without extreme shortness of breath. I am not in pain.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

This probably is from your back muscles. I would suggest you should take some over the counter pain killer like paracetamol for few days. Also massage and heat application would help. I hope this would work. However if you have any cough or shortness of breath or your pain persists then you should go to get an X-ray of the chest done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
