What Causes Discomfort In The Chest When Having High BP And Hypothyroidism?
I have been experiencing flittering in my left upper chest region, followed by burping or feeling the need to burp and having pain there as well. I have seen a heart doctor , had EKG s ran, wore a heart monitor, had an ultrasound of my heart done and nothing was found to be wrong. Yet I still have these symptoms. I am 46 years old, am considered extremely over weight, have high blood pressure and hypothyroidism. I do take medications for the high blood pressure and hypothyroidism.
General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. While having hypothyroidism and hypertension you can have such symptoms which is related to heart. As you have run all the above mentioned tests you are most likely clear from those. So it can be due to gastritis and acid reflux. Taking proton pump inhibitors like Esomeprazole ( Nexium ) will be helpful for this. Also check your thyroid profile also. If it is not normal then you have to adjust your Thyroxine dosage.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
