What Causes Discomfort In The Ears After A Head Injury?
six months ago I fell and hit the side of my head pretty badly. My head swelled up immediately and I vomited several times.I went to the ER several days later and was told I had a severe concussion. The CT scan showed no problems. I followed up with a PCP for about two weeks at which time I was told everything should be fine in a few weeks. It is six months later and my ear is still not the same as before the fall. A few times a day I experience the sensation of a flutter in my ear, when I swallow I sometimes hear a crackle and it has the sensation of feeling a little clogged.I have seen an audiologist and he said he couldn t see anything wrong and my hearing tested fine.He suggest I see an ENT. What could be causing this?
You can be having either a post concussion syndrome and it is also possible that you might have damaged your ear due to the fall. Therefore, definitely consult an ENT specialist to check for that. If that's normal, then do go for a neurosurgeon consultation.
