What Causes Discomfort In The Lower Abdomen On The Left Side?

Hello, I m 18 years old and I ve been experiencing discomfort in my left ovary, inside the hip bone for more than a week now. At first I thought it was premenstrual symptoms but I had never experienced it in the past. Now I m nearly done with menstruation for this month and I am still feeling the discomfort. It feels like an icy hot feeling and I feel it mostly when I lay down. Please let me know what this can be, I am really worried.

Hi,

* There can be various reasons for the pain in left lower abdomen as:
- Pelvic inflammation of any organ as ovary or else
- Gravels or calculus in urinary tract
- Intestine or colon related colic
- Others

* Primary relief with anti spasmodic medicine and if persistent, visit your PCP for examination and if needed ultrasound evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
