What Causes Discomfort In The Lower Back Upon Movement?

I have discomfort in the area of my tail bone. No discomfort when lying down. Mild discomfort when arising and sitting on the edge of the bed. No discomfort on toilet stool. Rapid Increase in discomfort when sitting. Must use notched seat pads or can t sit at all. Digital prostate exam did not reveal anything in the tail bone area. No injury as far as I know. Indication started suddenly about 2 or 3 months ago. Has not gotten particularly worse but has not improved either.

Hello,

I think you should do an X-ray of tailbone to check if it is dislocated or broken.

If it is neither dislocated or broken it may come from sitting position you may be having recently. In this case, you may only need exercise and physical therapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
