What Causes Discomfort In The Upper Abdomen And Breathing Difficulty?

Hi. My husband is 54 years old. He quit smoking a few months ago and recently took up walking to lose some weight. The past few days he has been feeling some discomfort in upper stomach as well as heavy breathing and fatigue while walking. Keeping in mind that the weather has been very hot lately. Could this be serious?

Hello, thanks for the query.
Feeling some discomfort in upper stomach as well as heavy breathing tired feeling are probably due to heavy weight. But it is better to get a proper check up done - like BP, ECG (or EKG), or echo cardiogram, because the above mentioned symptoms need to be properly investigated. So my suggestion is visit a physician or a cardiolologist. It is better not to neglect minor symptoms. If everything turns out normal, then you can increase your efforts to reduce weight. Thanks.
