Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
About 3 hours ago I started to have discomfort in my right upper chest. The pain has extended to my collar bone and going up the right side of my neck with some sensation in the jaw. I do not recollect of having strained a muscle in that area. This has happened intermittently but not frequently. Maybe 2x in the last month, 3 Including this episode. My heart rate is72. I do not have a thermometer to take my temperature. I do not have any heart burn and my gall bladder has been removed many many years ago. I do not have any abdominal discomfort or pain. I am tempted just to take 2 tylenol and lay down to see if it subsides. Should I try that before going to urgent care or a hospital. I don t have insurance so I am very cautious about spending funds.

What Causes Discomfort In The Upper Chest Area?
Hello, It may be due to hyperacidity. For that you can take tablet pantoprazole and syp mucaine gel after physician consultation. Avoid hot and spicy foods. Take soft diet. In case of not getting relief you may require upper GI endoscopy after gastroenterologist consultation. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shyam Kale Family and general physician
