Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Discomfort In Upper Abdomen And Chest?
I have discomfort in my upper abdomen, and sometimes in my chest and throat. I have got an ECG done, an echo doppler test done and the results are perfectly normal. There is no family history of heart disease either. The doctor I visit said this must be due to acidity and gastric trouble. I wanted a second opinion.
Discomfort in the chest or throat may be due to acidity with reflux or cardiac pain or intercostal muscle pain or pleurisy or pneumonia or herpes zoster etcetera. Until examination, it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
