Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Discomfort Under The Armpit And Chest?
I am concerned about a gnawing discomfort under my left arm pit which has gotten progressively worse. I am unable to sleep comfortably on my left shoulder because there is immediate pain associated with the pressure on my upper left side. i am also having a slight pain in my chest, as though my blood is not circulating. I have been checked for heart problems about 3 years ago, but there was not sign of blockage. My dad had numerous heart attacks and I have a sister who died of a heart attack at the age of 55. I am now 55. I have been in very good health otherwise.
To me, the pain seems muscular. However, should get your heart checked as your last cardiac check up was three years ago. Plus, if you're also having burping or gas, it could be related to stomach hyper-acidity problems. Do take antacid after eating and probiotic to stabilize intestinal flora. If you suffer of constipation, that could also cause the pain you're currently experiencing. Try to avoid constipation and see if this will resolve your problems.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
