What Causes Discomfort Under The Left Breast Area In An Elderly Person?
I am a 76 year old male.....in the last two days I have experienced discomfort in the chest more specifically under the left breast area. The discomfort lasts a couple of seconds. I would say it occurs about once every 30 minutes. I seem to notice it more when I am sitting or laying down. I didn t notice it during the night. I am 5 feet 6 inches and weigh 155 lbs. No family history of heart problems. Is this anything I should address immediately?
Hello dear I understand your concern Discomfort under breast could be due to heart problem, panic attack, gastritis, musculoskeletal pain. I would suggest to consult your primary care physician and undergo chest x-ray, ECG scan, CK,CK-MB, routine blood test to confirm cause. If above test will come normal then nothing to worry. Take anti inflammatory drug like diclofenac and muscle relaxant like tizanidine Proton pump inhibitor like pantoprazole Take proper rest Avoid spicy/fatty/oily food Do regular exercise like walking and yoga Avoid stress, take healthy diet, drink plenty of water and. Hope this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
