Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Thank you for your help...My 4 & 1/2 year old daughter does not like to chew her food. She will not self feed either. She will starve all day in her day care and then I have to feed her at night since thats the only meal she will eat but she eats for 2 hours and its very furstrating to me too. Her Doctor says that's normal, but may daughter is smallest in her class and very thin. I am worried for her growth, she has been like this since her transition from baby food. She has no other health complains, except when she is eating she complains of her neck and tummy hurting(dont know if that's her excuse to get away from eating) Please advise...have talked about her neck and tummy complains with her doctor who ruled out any issues...
thank you for follow up. I actually have the same problems with my daughter. Do you know children have weak muscles , thats why we should give light food, more liquid. For example, blended vegetable soup, blended sweet dahi with panir, blended papaya with sugar and water, banana milk shake, porridge with oats, kheer with rice and pumpkin, juice or cut fruits. She should eat 4 times every four hours and fifth time- fruits between meals
