What Causes Distended Abdomen Along With Bruising On Lower Back?
I fell at 5pm, march 20th. I went to the hospital by 6:30pm, got many x-ray and a cat scan w/out contrast. I spoke with the lay in charge of the er at the 1st hospital, she told me I have acute fractures, left side, 6th-10th ribs, displacement of 7th & 8th ribs, resulting in hemopneumothorax on left side. I am in AMAZING pain, have not slept more than maybe 1.5 hours per night, and now, about 4-5 days ago started having a severe burning pain, no rhyme or reason for when it comes. This pain stops me in my tracks. I saw my MD, no avail. My lower belly is dissented, bruising started yesterday, lower left back and lower left side and front. Extreme swelling, much more I am a healthy, in great shape, have been eating clean for 30 years, no medical problem whatsoever, aged 54.

As per your description, you had acute rib fractures and hemopneumothorax. You have not mentioned if those issues were taken care of at the ER. The causes of swelling of your lower belly and back might be hemoperitoneum or blood in the abdomen, rupture of any internal organ in abdomen or back (kidneys), splenic injury, muscle tears of abdominal or back muscles resulting in inflammation and swelling.
You need to consult a surgeon or a gastroenterology specialist as soon as possible for further evaluation with the help of ultrasound scan.
