What Causes Diverticulitis Despite Taking Ciprofloxacin And Metronidazole?
I have diverticulitis have taken two rounds of antibiotics of Ciprofloxacin HCL 500 mg and Metronidazolr 250 mg. Had CT scan came back still have diverticulitis and my doctor called in Avelox 400 mg. last night but my insurance does not cover it. Is there some other drug I can take to help. My doctor is not in yet.

You may need some more efficient antibiotic or these should be given intravenous such as ertaprnem, tazobactam or cephalosporines. Also,ct scan should be done to see is there colon perforation and then surgery may be required.
