What Causes Dizziness After A Bypass Surgery?

HI. My husband had a quadruple bypass surgery on 9-25-17. After surgery he seemed like he was getting better but now he gets dizzy all the time and sometimes falls. What s going on with him? He s a previous smoker with COPD. All his tests have come out fine.

Hello,

There are different possible causes for the symptoms that he is experiencing. One possible cause is that he may be experiencing a drop in blood pressure on standing, this is called orthostatic hypotension. He should go to his doctor for assessment. There are different causes of orthostatic hypotension but he would need to be seen to determine - if it is present and the causes for him.
