Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Feeling light headed, kinda dizzy, especially after I eat. I ve been on a diet consisting of low sugar. Diabetes runs in my family. I looked up the symptoms of hypoglycemia and a lot of those symptoms seem to align with the way I m feeling. I ate a candy bar and 2 lolly pops and felt a spike in my blood sugar but I m still dizzy. I had a blood test on Monday at the doctors office who I cant see again until next Tuesday and it came back with higher than normal alakaline levels. I probably have low vitamin D levels at the moment as well. Im just trying to figure out what I can do in the mean time to feel better and get through my long work days
I think you may be suffering from episodes of reactive hypoglycemia. It is caused the lowering of blood sugar levels 4 hours after meals. It may be a sign of damaged glucose tolerance.
You should check HbA1c, fasting glucose levels, postprandial glucose levels.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
