What Causes Dizziness After Having Had Blood Drawn?

It was a regular day, had draw a small amount of blood in the am since I needed to be NPO. We ate afterwards, 3 hours after blood being drawn I began to fell dizzy and suddenly I collapsed on the floor (grass thankfully). I was disoriented. I was brought a chair and water and litttle by little began remembering. This has never happened before and I get blood drawn all the time because I have chronic pancreatitis.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It seems you suffered from an episode of hypoglycemia. Since you were NPO it may have triggered the episode. It can happen sometimes and I would advise you to get your blood sugar levels checked if this happens again.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nazma.amman,
