Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was at work and I was pulling a cart and it got stuck. I tried to pull it free and I hit my tailbone on a pole. I tried to walk it off but all of a sudden I started to become dizzy and the next thing you know I m waking up off the floor. What caused me to pass out from hitting my tailbone?
As per my clinical experience, it is the secondary systemic manifestation of any undue injury or insult to body when syncope or transient fainting sensation may be felt from exacerbated pain pathway sensitivity. If the amount of pain is not that significant, one usually does not get that severe activation of sympathetic pathway. Immediate consumption of hot coffee or tea usually helps great way in such instances , if happens in future.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
