Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Sertraline is an antidepressant belonging to the class of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRIs).
It is used to treat depression,
obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, anxiety disorders,
post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and
premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).
Commonly encountered side effects with use of sertraline include: diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, dyspepsia, fatigue, insomnia, loose stools, nausea, tremor, headache,
paresthesia, anorexia, decreased libido, delayed ejaculation,
diaphoresis and xerostomia.
Since you have taken overdose of the medication, one of its side effect dizziness seems to be much evident and you are experiencing it. Gradually, as the drug gets metabolized, your symptoms should subside and you should be back to normal. Terminal plasma elimination half-life is about 62 to 104 hours. Hence it may take about 2 to 4 days for the symptoms to subside completely.
Kindly do not exceed the intake of the dose as has been prescribed.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
