What Causes Dizziness After Taking Coumadin?

I take coumadin for 2 artificial valves. Lately I am having dizzy spells and feel as if I am going to pass out. last year my cardiologist did a echocardogram, doppler of my carotids. One valve was leaking and carotid arteries had some blockage. Could either of these cause symptoms I am having?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The dizziness does not sound to be a side effect of Coumadin, rather these sound problems with cerebral circulation or else which must be evaluated by MRI brain.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
General & Family Physician
