Hi,
A component of Mucinex D which is causing your dizziness is
Pseudoephedrine. This component acts to shrink the inflammation in your sinuses to permit drainage of the mucus. However, as it acts in general in the
central nervous system to do its effect, side effects are common like palpitations, drowsiness, dizziness.
I suggest using other nasal decongestants which don't have pseudoephedrine. This may include nasal sprays like saline sprays or even
Oxymetazoline nasal sprays (but is limited of use as it may cause rebound
nasal congestion).
But with this, I still recommend a follow-up check-up with your doctor for a re-evaluation and shifting of your medications.
For it is not an over the counter drug is that is part of the family of
amphetamines, which in turn makes it a regulated drug.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
