What Causes Dizziness After Weight Training?

I started a light weight training program last October. I was making slow but good steady progress until about three weeks ago. Then I did some very heavy lifting and ever since I ve felt very light headed. It s affecting my concentration and balance and sometimes I feel as if I m going to pass out. I ve stopped weight training since and I ve only been doing very gentle cycling and rowing. Should I go to see a doctor? My blood pressure is fine and pulse normal.

Hello,

The symptoms can be related to dehydration.

I recommend you drinking liquids during the weight training.

You can also take Pedialyte used to replace fluids and minerals (such as sodium, potassium).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
