What Causes Dizziness Along With Blurred Vision After Taking Femara?

My bride has just started Femara. From other caregivers, i have heard to be on the loo k out for fainting and blurred vision. How can I counter the inadequate guidance from the oncologist and the online literature from the drug inserts to have her not drive and take it easy til we get a baseline?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As there is no detailed history I can just presume that your bride was prescribed Femara for breast cancer or to prevent breast cancer to recur.

It is true that she may feel dizzy and her vision may become blurred while taking Femara but I will suggest talking to her oncologist as Femara is a very specific medicine and if it is strongly indicated, she will have to bear with it as long as she is on Femara.

Please feel free to discuss with me if there are still concerns.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
