Last year over the summer I had traveled to San Antonio and stayed a few days. The very last day I was there, I became very sick. I suspect it had something do do with the apparently undercooked steak I had in the morning. It took hours before anything happened, but I began feeling lightheaded for a while, and it seemed different symptoms started appearing every hour or so. By the end of the day I had been stuck in my hotel bed feeling dizzy, with chills and a sore throat. Alkaseltzer seemed to help a bit, and after a short nap I found myself feeling better (though still a bit lightheaded) and ready to go out. It wasn t log after that the symptoms came back, and after that I had to go home. On the way back, I stopped in a restaraunt where I nearly vomited and was close to fainting. My friends cared for me while we went home, and after a long night, I was home, and the sickness seemed to be over. I blamed it on a foodborne illness at the time, and vowed never again to eat steak at Dennys. My parents say it was just something I caught from someone, but I really want to know what could cause that kind of sickness and go away after only a day!
