What Causes Dizziness Along With Headache And Blurred Vision?

Hi. I'm female, age 68, still working full time, living in my own home, dealing with recently diagnosed prediabetes and migraines. I eat smart but I don't have a regular exercise program (Yes, I know.). Today (partly cloudy, 72 degrees, lovely day) I spent about 30 minutes with the weed eater. Came in for large glass of water, decided to sit down for about 15 minutes. When I stood up, nearly went down again, very lightheaded, had to blink a couple of times to clear my vision, instant headache, staggered back to chair. Grabbed can of pop, ate some fruit and some cheese. Left arm shaking (that's happened before with weed eater). Waited half hour, tried again, still a bit dizzy but better, vision better. Probably low blood sugar, right?

Hello
Welcome to health care magic.

The symptoms you experienced can be aura symptoms of migraine or it can be due to hypoglycaemia caused by diabetic medications.

Are you taking medications properly for your migraine? If so,there are less chances they were aura symptoms. Also those symptoms passed away on eating fruit and cheese. So probably they are due to hypoglycaemia. In that case, you need to meet your treating doctor to talk about the incident.
Change of dose of diabetic medication or alternative class of drugs may be prescribed.
Avoid fasting for more than 3-4 hours.Have small frequent meals.Always keep some sugary food item with yourself to eat if you get symptoms of hypoglycaemia like dizziness, shaking, tremors, sweating.

Hope this information helps.
Feel free to ask any more doubt.
