Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This morning after laying in bed for 15 minutes after I awakened, I suddenly felt the room spinning. I changed positions to see if the spinning would go away but it did not. Then I tried to see if I could get up to walk around, I could not because I was too nauseous and my head was still spinning. I also felt short of breath and also like I was about to vomit. This went on for about an hour where I did not feel normal and was still a bit nauseous. I ate breakfast and started feeling better and normal again after about 2 hours. I have never experienced anything like this ever! what could have caused this feeling?
Dizziness while rolling in bed may be caused by BPPV. This is a common and not serious condition but may cause a lot of distress to the patient due to vertigo and the associated nausea. You will need to have a check with the doctor and if he confirms that you have BPPV he will do some maneuvers in the office that help you feel much better.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
