What Causes Dizziness Along With Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Arms?
hello. I am an RN. I was at work this morning standing getting report when I suddenly became lightheaded, dizzy, had numbness and tingling in bilateral arms and legs, got really hot and sweaty and according to my coworkers I was pale and my lips were dusky/slightly cyanotic. I sat down and drank some orange juice and had some crackers and cheese. Co-workers got vital signs on me which were blood pressure 105/68 pulse 58 and after sitting for a while O2 was 100%. Blood sugar 15 min after juice and crackers was 90. I have had similar episodes in the past but have not seen a doctor because the episodes are not frequent. I also wear a fitbit and my typical resting heart rate will drop as low as 46-48. Is this something I need to be concerned about or seek treatment for? I am only 28 years old. I work out 4-5 days a week and have a relatively healthy diet.
I think this is an episode of hypoglycemia. You should have measured the blood sugar levels before taking orange juice because after 15 minutes it is fastly absorbed and shows elevated levels.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
