My son has been getting dizzy driving home. He gets pressure on both sides of this temples and his hands feel numb. It is not continuous it comes and goes on the drive home. He has to lie down for 30 min. once he gets homes to feel better. His blood work came back ok but his BP is on the high side. 147/86. This does not happen on the way to work only on the way home. He does look at a computer screen during the day.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Based on your description of the symptoms, I would like to rule out cervical spondylosis and associated nerve impingement.

I recommend :
- a physician consult
- an x-ray of the cervical spine. An MRI if nerve damage is suspected.
- blood tests (complete blood count, blood glucose levels, lipid profile, kidney and liver function tests)
-regularly monitoring blood pressure and if consistently high, diet modifications along with medications if necessary.
-urine analysis

Diet modifications include salt restriction and avoiding fast foods, foods high in glycemic levels and saturated fats.

An improper posture in front of a computer can exacerbate or trigger spondylosis and can damage nerves. Avoid sitting continuously for more than a half hour.
Include frequent breaks and maintain proper posture.

Hope this helps.
Wish you good health.
