Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Dizziness And A Heaviness Around The Upper Neck?
I have been experiencing dizziness and a heavy feeling in my occipital and upper neck area. I have very bad vitreous floaters in both eyes and am very nearsighted. I have started to worry about stroke or TIA also. Could the floaters be causing my symptoms?
To evaluate for stroke or TIA, a lot of other factors must be considered. For example, do you have diabetes, hypertension, do you smoke? how old are you? And so forth. Floaters are most commonly associated with migraineheadaches, but other causes must be ruled out as well. can you provide a bit more information?
If you are really worried about your symptoms, I would suggest you visit your doctors office in person to get some tests and imaging done if he deemed necessary. that's when you can be really sure you do not have TIA or stroke.
