What Causes Dizziness And Anxiety While On Lexapro?

Ok so i have extreme GAD and agoraphobia to start with im prescribed 20mg Lexapro daily, but for the last few days i have been mildly dizzy while standing. If i lay down im no longer dizzy, no inner ear problems only the anxiety but I ve had that for almost 11 years now and I ve never experienced this dizziness before, any suggestions on what this might be?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As you have mentioned you have been started on Lexapro for your GAD and agoraphobia. The reason for your dizziness can be either fluctuation in your blood pressure, diabetes or other medical condition or Lexapro. Usually, Lexapro is tolerated well by the people. Only a few people get some side effects. You should consult your psychiatrist and you can change Lexapro to other SNRI group of medicines like Desvenlafaxine or Duloxetine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Prashant Gohil
