What Causes Dizziness And Appetite Loss?

My 31 year old daughter went to the ER two days ago for a migraine. They gave her a cocktail, and she felt better. Today, she feels light-headed, achy, has no appetite, has chills and lethargic. She describes her feeling like when your blood sugar is low because you haven t eaten. She has tried to eat, but feels nauseous when she does. Could this be related to her previous migraine? Should she return to the ER or go to urgent care?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
I understand your concern.

Your daughter has all symptoms related to migraine.
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend,
-NSAIDs like ibuprofen (age adjusted dose)twice a day till acute attack lasts.
-drug like sumatriptan/rizatriptan needs to be started for minimum 3 months for prevention against attack of migraine.
-Avoid triggers like bright lights and noises.
-Nausea,dizziness,irritabilty are aura symptoms of migraine like a warning about migraine attack. When you feel you are getting it,you need to rest in a dark, quiet room.
Therefore,I advise you to visit a good physician for above treatment.

Hope this information helps.
Thanks
