What Causes Dizziness And Fainting While On Antibiotics For UTI?

i am currently on antibiotics for a uti wrapping up tomorrow. last night when at an event where i had been standing for two hours i felt lightheaded and almost passed out. i was able to get over that by sitting and drinking water for about twenty minutex but i experienced persistent chills. i came home and went to bed however experienced cramping in my legs while sleeping. when i woke up i had a mild fever great aches and constant chills while indoors. i took acetaminophen in the middle of the day which helped a bit. ive also been coughing today and my breathing has felt heavy. i guess im asking if this is an infection sorting itself out or getting worse. i have three kids so its hard to get to the doctor so i dont go in for every little thing. i did have mild pneumonia in dec and the coughing isnt as bad but similar as well as the aches an energy loss. please advise. thank you.

Hello , i read your query and from what you described it looks like you have severe urinary tract infection.
Severe UTI is associated with fever ,chills, generalised weakness and dizziness. I suggest you take it easy and rest at home.Take 8-10 glasses of water and avoid sweet drinks as it may only worsen your UTI.
The antibiotics if correctly prescibed for your UTI do take 2 -3 days to start working so i suggest you give it some time to act.
take paracetamol 500 mg thrice a day till you feel better.
As for your cough, it might be due to a change of weather possibly ,hopefully the antibiotic for UTI which i suppose is a broad spectrum antibiotic will take care of your chest infection if any.
Try steam inhalation and ginger tea for cough.
Rest and sip alot of water.
Hope this helps.Goodluck.
