Lexapro contains escitalopram that belongs to the group of
antidepressant medications known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors or SSRIs is used in the treatment of
depression, anxiety, panic disorders,
obsessive compulsive disorder etc. But like other medications this medication has some side effects of its own. Stop taking escitalopram like Lexapro may result some unwanted and unpleasant symptoms that is known as withdrawal syndrome. Withdrawal syndrome of Lexapro are dizziness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, headache, irritability,
nightmares, prickling or
tingling sensation on the skin, agitation and many more. This medication should be stopped gradually by tapering its doses under the supervision of the prescribing doctor to avoid the withdrawal syndrome.
