What Causes Dizziness And Fatigue While On Beta Blocker?

I am 61 years old and my doctor place me on a low dose beta blocker because my heart was beating rapidly. I have been sick with bronchitis the last couple of weeks, but I have been feeling lightheaded periodically as well. I feel horrible, extremely fatigued. My blood pressure earlier today was 155/85 standing, with a pulse of 101. Tonight my pressure sitting is 113/71 with a pulse of 76. I have many symptoms of low blood pressure although I don t think this is extremely low. I am not overweight and I am not a smoker, but I feel like my body is just so weak. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dizziness and fatigue while on Beta blocker . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like migraine ,otitis media , condition like meniere's disease or simple reasons like low iron or sugar level. Side effects of certain medicine can also cause such symptoms like blood pressure medicine , so consult cardiologist also , doctor may alter the dose or prescribe medicine. I would suggest you to take proper rest , drink green tea thrice day , avoid bending forward and consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CTscan , examination with otoscope and take history . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug along with antibiotics and anti inflammatory . Doctor may also recommend vestibular therapy .
