General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for asking. The lisinopril is antihypertensive &hydrochlorthiazide is a diuretic &tends to remve edema /water retension in body. Both of them as a combined effect control blood pressure mostly... but during the process.. repeated bp recordings &adjustment of the drugs as per need to get an optimum dose for an individual is needed. Your blood pressure today morning with above said medicines was117/75..which is a bit lower than normal... this had caused dizziness &tiredness following exercises.this was probably due to higher dose of the medicines I feel you need reassessment for the blood pressure &suitable dosage of the pills. Please consult your treating doctor. Thanks.
