What Causes Dizziness And Fluttering Sensation In The Chest?
Hi, I am an adult 30 yr old femaie. I am getting dizzy lately and my heart flutters every week. I suffer from depression, but deal with it by eating right and exercise. I walk or run 1-5 miles every week. My concern is that I keep getting dizzy, especially when I look down and then look up or get up from a chair. I also work full time and it is not very stressful. I wear glasses and I am not a diabetic. My energy level does go down quickly and then I eat something and it raises. I also have slight joint pain. The doctors have done tests and think I am making my symptoms up. I wonder why I keep getting dizzy and don t know what to do....
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Both the symptoms you prescribe, the dizziness and the fluttering sensation in the chest can be caused by depression also. Still if you have not had tests done before to rule out anemia and thyroid problems this might be a good reason to have them done. The tests are called CBC (for anemia detection) and TSH (for thyroid function). If the tests come out normal than you will need to talk with your doctor on the control of depression symptoms as they might be related to a not well controlled depression. Sometimes having some counselling helps you feel better and augments the effect of the treatment and healing. It seems you are doing the right things by keeping your self active and eating the right things. I would suggest that you go on exercising regularly and having regular meals. Having frequent small amount of food will help you to not have empty stomach for long time and than having full meals which might drop your blood pressure and cause your more dizziness. Having frequent small meals gives you calories throughout the day and is less likely to cause blood pressure drop.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
