What Causes Dizziness And Headache While On Antibiotics?

Dear Dr. Rynne, I believe I have had a sinus condition for the past three months. I went through a treatment of antibiotics (Doxycycline), Flonase, and Claritin about six weeks ago. However, I am still experiencing symptoms -- dizziness, stuffiness, and mainly headaches. Also, in the past month I have a new symptom-- indigestion. I have an appointment with an ear-nose-throat specialist and tests scheduled -- but unfortunately, I have to wait 3 weeks for these. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to relieve my symptoms -- particularly the dizziness and headaches? Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Bonnie Khaw-Posthuma

Hi,

The symptoms you have (dizziness headache) are persistent ones in spite of taking antibiotic. indicating that either due to drug resistance or inadeqUate dosage.

I would suggest anti-allergic cold pills over the counter like Synarest. You should consult an ENY specialist for revision prescription.

Inhalation of vapor &preventing exposure to allergen would help.
