What Causes Dizziness And Headache While Suffering From Painful Hernia?

Hi my husband has seen the doctor about his hernia and he told him to exercise,, he s had it for a while now and it s very painful . But he s getting or their symptoms is feeling dizzy,light headed,headaches.. But he says when he lying down it feels better.... Is this right?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have dizziness and headache while suffering from painful hernia . Usually symptoms like dizziness and headache mot case by hernia , but in some cases where hernea cause anemia due to bleeding can cause headache and dizziness . But there can be other reasons also like ear infection , meniere's disease or sinusitsi . I would suggest you to consult general surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order barium study , x-ray , esophagoscopy or manometry . Doctor may prescribe medicine for symptomatic relief like antiemetic drug , analgesic or medicines for acid reflux or recommend surgery . Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist . For now avoid bending forward and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
