General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Sudden onset of dizziness, heaviness on left side of the body in an elderly indicates possible development of cerebro vascular stroke via thrombosis (in around 85%) or embolism (around 15% cases). Associated vomiting also suggests the same thing to be considered. You require a call to 911 and immediate medical attention before the stroke damages further vital structures of the brain.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
