What Causes Dizziness And Loss Of Balance While Walking?

I am a 51 year old female. I have been feeling very off balance for about a week. I m a bit light headed and dizzy sometimes. My balance seems oarticularly off when I look down or look up. The last couple of days I have a bit of a dull penetrating feeling in my head - not really a headache though. I m wondering if I should make an appointment with the doctor or leave it for a bit to see if it goes away
