What Causes Dizziness And Nausea After Discontinuing Escitalopram?

Hello, I have been diagnosed with Stress and Anxiety disorder. I am currently taking 30 mg of escitalopram once a day. I have stopped taking it in the last week because I am trying to get pregnant. I have been experiencing light headiness, rapid breathing, numbness around the mouth and neasuea. I read on here that it could be could be from the disorder. Could all of that be from the lack of medicine or from something else?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are going through withdrawal symptoms. Consult your psychiatrist. Avoid stopping medication without doctor advice. The medication was supposed to be tapered down or kept a dose safer for you.

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Regards,
Dr. Rohit Kothari
