Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a healthy, 31 y/o female--- I have been waking up in the middle of the night with hot flashes These hot flashes make me feel dizzy, nauseous and like I am going to spontaneously com bust. The Heat just intensifies until I vomit. Sometimes these heat episodes last 40 minutes. I ve never been so close to asking for the good Lord to take me home. I just cannot express enough how hot I feel. I never sweat (other than the back of my neck get clammy from nausea).I had a tubal ligation at the age of 26, could this be pre menopausal symptoms?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Since you are 31 years only, menopause is not the first consideration. However, ovarian function need to assessed with FSH, LH levels. Another important consideration is hyperthyroidism (increased thyroid hormone levels), which can be ruled out by testing for Tsh, t3 and t4 levels.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
