What Causes Dizziness And Plugged Ear After A Head Injury?

my 27 yr old son was assaulted last night. He was hit in the right side of his head with a gun. he did not seek treatment at the time. He just got off of a plane ride back home. He is experiencing dizziness and plugged right ear with slow thinking. I m not sure if the plugged ear is from the plane ride and he s just tired. I just thought I d ask here before he went to a Dr. Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Due to the nature of the trauma, it is strongly recommended that you visit a doctor as soon as possible, in order to do a neurological exam/CT on your son, so that he/she may exclude any intracranial pathology and possible skull fractures.

Your son should tell the doctor exactly how the trauma happened and every symptom that he felt, feels or eventually starts feeling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Aleksandar Dimovski,
