What Causes Dizziness And Pressure Behind The Left Ear?
An ENT doctor just prescribed pamelor 10mg for my 21 year old daughter s dizziness-and she s also feeling pressure behind her left ear. She s had vertigo in the past but feels like this is more intense-she s in her last year of college and the ENT thinks atypical migraines due to stress and fatigue. I m concerned about the pamelor s side effects-she does get a little relief with antivert, she s also using flonase but doesn,t feel like it s doing much....any thoughts?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your ENT doctor might have tested and seen if there is any infection in the ear or mastoid region and might have ruled it out and thought that it might be migraine. In case you still have any doubts you can consult another ENT surgeon.
May be your daughter is having some symptoms of anxiety-depression, that's why she has been prescribed Tab. Pamelor. Pamelor is used to treat mental/mood problems such as depression. It may help improve mood and feelings of well-being, relieve anxiety and tension, and increase your energy level. Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, weight gain, or trouble urinating may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Regards,
Dr Sanjay Kini
