General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and I can understand your concern. First of all I would like to tell you that since your husband's BP was on the higher side the antihypertensive s should not have been stopped. Once a person is started on hypertensives he is generally asked to continue them , only doses are tapered according to the blood pressure. Regular BP monitoring is a must that is atleast once weekly. Now coming to your husband's symptoms I will like to advice you to get his EKG done to rule out infarction. secondly an MRI scan should be done since stroke is also a possibility. Once these things are ruled out I would advise you to put him back on anti hypertensives after consulting with his physician. I hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions please feel free to write.
